Got the engine put back together last night, seems the cleaning made a big difference. I ran it for about 30 minutes with the intent of going back and re-torquing, now I can't find anything in the service manual on that, I don't know where I got that idea from. If it's a bad idea someone stop me . Anyway, the engine is now so quiet and smooth the hydro whine is actually louder than the engine. Didn't even notice the hydro whined before

While I had the tins off, I took my brand new POS laser temp gun to see how hot the head gets while the engine is running. I am registering 250 degrees on the head, I imagine it will run cooler with the tins on forcing more air to go across the cooling fins. Just out of curiosity I measured the temp on the muffler, 500 degrees at the point where it connects to the engine and 200 at the other end, with the temp gradually decreasing across the length of the muffler. I am surprised at how well it dissipates heat.

Thank you everyone for your help during this process, I think I'm good to go for this year(and many years to come)
