Default Lift Rod

This subject comes up frequently. Here is how to calculate and fabricate a Implement Lift Rod.

* Get two pieces of dimensional lumber (ie: 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, etc) long enough to extend the wheel base of your tractor.

* Place these pieces of lumber on the floor and run the tractor up on them. This now raises your tractor up off the floor 1-1/2".

* Place the front blade down on the floor (not on the lumber). This allows the blade to be lowered 1-1/2" below grade.

* Place the Lift Lever from the tractor all the way forward.

* Now measure the distance between the Lift Bracket on the front blade to the connection point on the tractor Lift Lever.

* This is the "length" of the lift rod needed for your application.

The lift rod can be made from several materials (1/2" solid rod, Pipe, Square Tubing, etc)

You can heat and bend the solid rod to length, thread and place adapters on each end, or drill holes in the square tubing and use clevis pins.
