Does anyone have original pictures of a 149 or similar tractor? I'm curious to see what parts where painted what color. I'm assuming the engine was yellow, but I see lots of colder cubs with black engines, or yellow starter/generators while mine is black. Also the seat spring/mounts on mine are white, not sure if that's correct or not.
My brother has a HVLP spray gun and I'm going to buy white and yellow from the case/IH dealer this weekend.
I'm undecided if I want to just paint the white tins ASAP, or wait a month for snow season to be over and partially strip the tractor down (pull the fenders and tin work) to degrease the tractor, and maybe paint the outside of the frame and do the fenders in yellow as well as the white tins.
I also need to figure out if I want to repaint the wheels when I swap tires this weekend. I think they'll clean up pretty good, but I don't want to regret how they look after the new tires are on.
Here you can see that I what to do the white areas. Not sure if I want to keep the original decal on the tunnel or use the new one.
You can see the fenders have been touched up over the years.
