Need some help on an oil leak that just started happening.
I am in the Louisville area and as you may have heard we have a LOT of snow
to plow. My 1810 with a Twin 18hp Kohler started leaking oil at a fast pace
while I was plowing. It did this on the last snow plowing session too but I could not find the leak source. I even cleaned it all up added some oil and ran it around on the drive for about a half hour but NO leak, then today when I started plowing it started again, went through maybe a pint.
The leak seems to be at the PTO side of the engine and seems to only happen
when it is working hard, I can even see it dripping but can't find it
because of all the shrouds and everything else in the way.
That side of the engine is where the oil pump is. I also notice that there
are a few drips back by the filter.
Any ideas of what may be the leak source.
