Alternator putting out 13.9 V at idle. So it was time to back it out of the garage and test drive. No leaks, deck lift smooth, power steering smooth hydro smooth forward and reverse. Brakes good. PTO clutch and deck work fine. I noticed a later replacement PTO clutch, looks new.
I do need to replace the fan belt. Pull the engine or drive shaft, which is easier?I will have to do some welding on the deck but it works good.

Pull the complete drive shaft. Guaranteed the CV joints need to be cleaned out anyway. The old grease turns into something resembling concrete mixed with wax.
