If it's a single gang, I'd say if you can still pick it up your ok. You don't say what tractor you have it on, or whether it's manual or hydraulic lift. If it's hydraulic, you can get it heavy enough that you'll bend the Brinly adapter. If it's manual lift, I doubt you can overload it. It's not going to work as well as a tandem, or as well as a big disk. They just aren't heavy enough to chew up plowed soil. I use mine to level it a bit after plowing and before running the tiller.
