Yep, like I said talk to Rich Patton, he is in PA and tows a trailer to sell and buy parts. DOT looks at the GVW of the truck plus the GVW of the trailer as the "Combined GVW". Like I said I've been on the receiving end of a DOT inspection and I had a CDL. I was on the way to Watkins Glen with my race car hauler and I made the mistake of towing a trailer with a street car on it that put me over the non CDL required limit so it cost me a fine and I ended up sleeping in the rest area in Owego NY for 8 hours because I didn't have a log book. I'm just trying to warn you guys. Honestly I don't give a crap, not my problem. Carry on. Big Gov. is just here to help you.
