Pick mine last Friday but didn't had spare time to deal with it yet, are you gone try with a frequency to voltage converter like RLause suggest? By the way Kirk never give any external converter with the RPM he sold.
Update: Just finish testing mine and it work, I just need to get a accurate reading now....Almost there
