I just ordered the compression tester from Amazon. I'll update once I get that in. In the mean time I went ahead and replaced the spark plugs with brand new platinum plugs. I switched the spark plug cables and have seen no difference in the behavior of the engine. The left side blows hot exhaust and the right side blows cool exhaust. I have even gone as far and put seafoam in the engine just to see if it would make a difference. So far nothing.
