Before you assume busted seal on the piston, check your fuel pump. I know on the Kohler's of the same time they were a mechanical pump run off the camshaft and when they'd go bad they'd leak fuel into the oil. Another thing to check is the carb. If it's got a bad needle or seat it can flood the engine like that. I would bet money it's not a bad piston seal, want my paypal address?

Give that a shot and I'm sure others will be along shortly to mention other things to check
