Just to clarify, I DID mean to momentarily shut off ALL the air going in the carb and then remove your hand to see if it would suck some gas through the carb. Your hand being a tighter fit than the choke plate.
I had forgotten about that bolt on the M engine. I'll still go with a stopped up carb.
Also, to me, "crank" means the engine turns over. Not start/run.
