Might be easier to take the 2 bolts out of the spool valve to mounting plate, leaving the valve/ hoses connected. and remove the plate with the column.
Thinking there might be a couple of spacers on those 2 bolts that you might want to catch so you don't loose them.(spool to plate spacers)
I also have removed the hoses and take the complete assy,
valve/plate/ column down and out together.
just preference I guess.
If you don't disturb valve on the column while working on the column, it all lines up easily on reinstall.
Either way it is not a big job/rocket science.
