I recently had an Item "booted" and this is the reason they gave me (copied and pasted directly from email).

CSR Note: Acceptance of checks or money orders are not allowed in eBay. We encourage sellers to accept payment methods that are safe , easy, reliable and offer high level of protection.

My biggest complaint is that Pay Pal takes a percentage of the total amount paid to me. Ebay rules plainly state that I/anyone can not inflate shipping costs to cover "other expenses" so Pay Pal takes part of what it costs to ship the item, they take and I have to make it up. In my opinion Pay Pal should only be allowed to take a percentage of the what the item sells for and NOT part of the money that just passes through my hands ie. shipping costs.

Ebay is entitled to ebays cut (and I don't have a problem with that). But Ebay wants to double dip by getting a Pay Pal fee too. They will not let me post that I will take a Check or Money Order nor post that I will give a discount for those forms of payment, and they will not let me "add on" a Pay Pal fee, for users who do wish to pay with Pay Pal. So I add a percentage to the items price to cover Pay Pal fees then Ebay takes a little bit more, so I have add a little more on the the price to make up for what ebay is now getting and before you know it the price is so high no one wants to buy the item. And if someone does want to buy it and send me a money order as payment, then they are getting screwed for having to pay the "figured in" pay pal fees.

In short ebay should not be allowed to dictate what forms of payment I can accept, especially if it requires me to pay them another fee for the transaction. I'm pretty sure there is a legal term for this and I'm also pretty sure it is illegal.
