Cyclops click when starting question
I have a question for those of you who have experienced the click and no crank problem with a cyclops. Did you notice what the starter did? I have done the gear reduction starter upgrade and didn't have this problem again until lately. The battery and cables are only 2 yrs. old and the battery is fully charged. A lot of times now when I turn the key I get a click and the drive gear on the starter is out against the ring gear, but it doesn't turn. If I tap just lightly in the area of the upper mount bolt, it starts cranking. The mounting bolts are still tight.
To me, when I have to do this it's just as embarrassing as running out of gas right in front of the announcer during the parade at a tractor show would be. Thankfully, I have never had that happen.
Thoughts?
