first thing I'd do is make sure he put the correct coil on it, then make sure he put the wire from the points to the - side of the coil and that the condenser is also hooked to the - side. then check the timing . then I'd run it with the points cover off to see if its arcing the points bad. if it is I'd ohm out the coil , if its bad replace it, if not try a different condenser. if its not arcing the points I'd look at the carb. I see allot of people change mass amount of parts and don't have a clue what they are doing or why. they tend to mess up more than they intended to
