It's all about power and weight. I do agree that I may have put a bit more than 14hp in it had I been designing it but then again, what does it really need it for? It handles the 60" deck they have for them just fine and unless you do a lot of heavy ground engaging (or maybe snow blowing but when have you ever seen one of those on that machine) they're just fine. I grew up with F Cubs and Lo-Boy's and they are quite capable machines. Spent more than a few hours mowing and pulling stuff around the farm with them, good machines if you can get em for a good price.
