I've had the 10, 12, 14 and 16 in that series. Used them all to cut grass.
With a 44" mower, even the 10 hp works fine unless you let the grass grow knee high.
The 10 and 12 are relatively smooth engines compared to the 14 and the 16.
I used a 16 with a snow blower. If you blow snow, that's the engine I'd use.
I used a well worn 10 with a tiller and it worked okay. I used the same tiller on a 16 and it worked a little better.
The 10 hp is smoother, quieter and has enough power to do most anything you want to do.
Yes, I know you didn't ask about the 10 but everything is relative.
