Jonathon is correct. Coils are wound with a specific resistance for the Primary Winding, as well as the Secondary Winding. To get the performance that Kohler wanted, it would be best to use the coil that was designed for their engines.
HOWEVER..........it is your tractor, your time, and your money.....do as you see fit.
