I have both narrow tri ribs and narrow ags on the front of some of my snow duty cubs. They are real cutters in the snow. I don't really notice much of a difference between the ags and the tri-ribs in the snow, but the ags seem to do better in the ice as far as steering the cub, though I am not quite for sure why.....maybe the directional "V" in the tread design.

The ags have more traction because the v pattern presents more edges as it rotates vs a tri rib. Some principal as why snow tires have more siping than reg tires, more edges=more ice traction.
