Hello!
I'm the part owner of a rain gutter installation company, and see all sorts of cool stuff in customers yards/garages.
About a month and a half ago, we show up at an older couple's house nearby to measure for a bid, and sitting in the driveway is an old Cub Cadet with a flat driver and an old blanket over it.
I immediately forgot about the task at hand, and made a beeline for that old tractor, remembering suddenly and remarkably clearly how I used to mow my grandfather's meadow on his CC. The 122 was in very good, obviously garaged shape, and I couldn't leave the damn thing alone, to the frustration of my business partner.
After relating some of my Cub Cadet recollections, I asked Bernadette what her plans were for it, and if it might be for sale or included in a trade for the gutter work. She said something like that would be ok, but that she'd need to talk to Clifford for particulars.
Several weeks later, we show up to get to work, and Bernadette mentions that she didn't want to trade or sell it to me. Rats.
No, she and Clifford we're going to GIVE it to me, and I allowed as to how that sounded agreeable to me.
So it's now in the company shop, missing a rear wheel (tried to find a tire locally), and the oil/water emulsion that came with the transmission. I'd post some pix but they're all on my phone, and this forum apparently doesn't do Tapatalk.
I love this little tractor, though: it's built like a bench vise, and it is in really good shape. After a little more reminiscing, I realized that Gramps' CC had a speed control on the dash, and no gear shift lever, so mine really isn't actually authentic in that sense.
Oh well. Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide when I start posting questions.
