Depending on the spec of the engine, it will be exactly the same as making it a gasoline version of that same machine. (982, 1872, 2072) You will need an engine plate and will have to rewire the machine.
I'd fix the diesel. What's wrong with it anyway? They don't actually "blow up" very often. All too many times they are misdiagnosed.
