For less than the cost of a shop rebuilding yours, you could likely just pick up a used one. They seem pretty plentiful and not too expensive.

Yes, you dont know exactly what you have that way. But they dont seem to go bad all that often (at least, thats been my experience). Some others might chime in with more insight, but Im not sure its worth paying someone to rebuild.
