Had to stop by the grocery/drugstore on the way home form work today. The Salvation Army was already camped out by the door ringing a bell. It's over 6 weeks before Christmas, that's just too soon for my liking. I have nothing against them or anyone else raising money and volunteering time to help folks in need--that's a GREAT thing to do. My take on it is we have the "holiday" season pushed on us earlier each year. It just ruins the Christmas spirit in my opinion. What I really hate is that kids don't seem to get near as excited about Christmas festivities as I remember 35 years ago, mine doesn't even notice a great light display unless you point it out. Makes me want to dig out a photo of me on Christmas morning playing with all my IH toys---I didn't realize then how lucky I was then to have a dad that worked at a IH dealership. Somehow I never got a toy Cadet, did they make them back in the 70's?
