We follow the Christian faith at my house and recognize when Advent starts is when our tree/lights go up. No sooner than Thanksgiving. We also recognize that as a holiday.
As a retailer, it only makes sense to put it up now. If they waited until after Thanksgiving, it would be even more nuts, and people would still be complaining about it being out too early.
