Power to the coil. Tested the coil by making a jumper and shorting out the (-) side of the coil to ground. Still no spark. Low battery. Jumped the battery and spark with the shorting wire now but not the plug.

I dont have a picture, but there is a small square cover on top of the engine that the fuel goes into (and out of) before going to the carburetor. Pulled the top off this and crud city. Cleaned it up and got the 'valves' working again. This let fuel pass.
Which also allowed it to start. Vroom! Yay!
But it was surging bad. Pulled the carb and did some more cleaning and retried and still rough. It would require the choke part way closed to get it to run 'smooth' without surging. There is only one adjustment screw on it.
So I had a different carb. This one has needles that I could remove for cleaning. Cleaned it up (a little) and put it on and runs great!
Slapped the fender on, adjusted the brake and hydro linkage (actually did this before the fender went on), and took it for a drive around the yard. The new steering is remarkable.
After a year and a half (or more?) I once again have a running driving tractor. Might put the blade on it and put it back in service for the Winter, or might pull the engine and clean it up. Of course those rims have to get the treatment, and some V61's on the front although I might leave chains on the back of this one.
Maybe now I can clean up around the shop a bit and get rid of some pieces not needed.
We will see...
