You can buy new "spirals". You just have to get it from a manufacturer of auger flighting. It is possible. I have rebuilt several farm/grain augers by replacing flighting. Never have done it on a snowthrower auger, but no reason you couldn't. You could even get heavier flighting so it won't bend as easy.
