I'm no expert, so if I screw up here, anyone is welcome to straighten me out.
I just picked up my 1863 about a week and a half ago ($500) because it had a 3-pt on it. Deals like this are not easily found, but are out there. I don't plan to use the 3-pt until spring. I plan to build a grader/leveler to maintain my 1/4 mile gravel driveway plus circle drive and parking area. I do not plan to use a mower on this tractor. I have no experience yet with mine.
The 3-pt keeps the implement "square" with the back of the tractor. A sleeve hitch is like a two dimensional ball hitch. It lets the implement move left and right. Both will lift the implement.
The Cub Cadet Attachment Guide, that I got with the 1863, says the 3-pt hitch is, "Used for the rotary tiller, moldboard plow, disc haro or cultivator." The 190-389 Cub Cadet 3-pt is a cat "0" hitch. It works off the deck lift.
Cub made a Sleeve Hitch Adaptor, part number 190-386, that allows sleeve hitch implements to be attached to a 3-pt hitch.
I have a real nice copy of the Cub Cadet Attachment guide if you want me to scan some of the pages and email to you, just send my your email.
I hope this helps.
