On my old QA I welded little 1" angle iron skids to the bottoms of the wear brackets. This helped but the best I've found is the above method.

Sorry guys that might not have made sense.
I do that at the beginning of the winter to set down a base compaction layer. If the first snow is more that 6" of heavy wet stuff I just keep the blower up a few inches and then hop on the snowmobile and drag it all smooth.
