I just went thru all that... Mine was just about that bad.. including the rockshaft under the tractor.. and all the holes in the lift carriage and the deck hangers and the gauge wheels.. Quite a few hours with the welder and grinder, lathe, and drill took care of all of it though. It lifts to full height now and doesn't have all that rattling and banging going on! I should've taken more pictures.. here is a link to my thread covering the rebuild..
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the lift carriage.
