and mine is actually an early one, but yes the ones without one may be older, but I was under the impression they all had one and they just fell off, so there is no good way to know by production numbers, check this out, it's early and has a serial tag, you can tell by the decals, this is my oldest one, and actually I have a few with no serial tag.
