John,
maybe I can help, maybe not,
I'm thinking your frame is like a 782????
One of my 782's has a front end from a 2072 super tractor and it raises the front end about 2" and sets it fwd. about the same amount.
What I encountered on a QA42 thrower, was the L.front tire rubbed the
thrower guard over the drive assy on the thrower a bit, but only on a full right turn.
I took care of that with a little bending of the guard, also I had to extend the lift rod some to allow the thrower to drop down the additional 2".
I have not put a deck on it as of yet.

On my 1650, I hung a super steer under it from a smaller Gt,-seems like it was a 1400 something.
On that cub the tie rod/relay from one spindle to the other will hit on the top of the mule drive, with the deck up and the axle pivots like going over a bump with one wheel.
I was able to "adjust" the spindle brackets, where the tie rods attach, upward by bending them upwards some.
They still touch a little, but it causes no problem.
As far as easier steering,I can't say as I have power steering on both.
Hope this helps.
