i was told by an older cub mechanic that was a hot roder that they were the same size as what was in a ford pinto, he had so much knowledge that i never challenged him on the facts by with some time and research i am sure some on here can come up with a definitive answer.
for the record i would put my money on the pinto answer, pintos were a fairly small car low hp but the vailiant while not a boat was bigger then the pinto and nothing in the 60's was built small
