Roland is correct. If you look, the tank on the 1282/680 is either the same level, or just below the carb. The other tanks were mounted high enough that gravity feed was sufficient.

I wouldn't go to that junk vacuum fuel pump. The mechanical ones are much more reliable. Yeah, they cost more. Big deal. They don't fail but only once every 20 years or so. My 1050 still has the original.... so it's 27 years old.
