For it to work properly, you really need a clean rust free surface. I striped the deck to bare metal, then used a phosphoric acid wash (sem product) to neutralize the pitted rust. Sandblasting the deck would have worked better. Gave it two coats of epoxy primer (omni mp170) 30 bucks a quart, the two part bedliner was a 100 dollars. The primer is applied with an automotive type spray gun, the liner with a Schutz gun or undercoating gun, (two coats) you can find them for under 30 bucks. Its the gun in the pic above. I used about half a gallon of the bedliner...I have enough left over to do another deck.
