I think there is a misconception on a lot of parts, especially belts, that OEM costs more than aftermarket. In a few things, that may be true, but I have found that for a good quality belt, that OEM belts are priced fairly competitive against the aftermarket ones, and sometimes cheaper. This is true for Cub Cadet, John Deere, etc. You may find them cheaper, but they're usually inferior than OEM and you're end up paying more in the long run by trying to save a few dollars buying aftermarket.
