I've been a smoker for at least 15 years, and I finally decided I wanted to quit, or at least try. (I started a little later than most, I have no idea why.) I wouldn't say I'm that heavy a smoker, at a little over a pack a day. Well, today, I went to try acupuncture. I don't know if anyone has tried this or not, but it seems as though it may work. I have a little steel bead taped to the inside of my ear in one of the spots that she put a needle. I'm supposed to press on it if I feel the need to smoke. It does seem to get the craving to go away. I went in early this afternoon, and at the time I'm typing, I've had 3 cigarettes. Much better than normal as I would have had 7 or 8 by now. Well see what tomorrow brings, but I'm hopeful. Honestly, if I had more will power I probably wouldn't have HAD to have the 3 I've had..... but I really liked smoking. Just think it better to quit. She says it may take 3 or 4 times to completely stop, but it's less for some, more for others. Too many factors to say how many treatments it will take. I'm hoping for 2 or 3. I'll let you guys know.


I kind of skimmed through this thread again. How's everyone doing that tried the vapor thing?

So I had this great idea about 6yrs ago to stop smoking. My answer was
Copenhagen. Wow was that a bad idea! I would go back and quit smoking
five times over and it would be easier than quiting chew. It's worse cause it doesn't bother anybody else and I can do it anywhere.
Seems like I always find some reason not to quit. I got a divorce so that wasn't a good time to do it, business not going well so now is not a good time. These are just my excuses not real reasons but it's real to me
