I get that..... but there's like 4 or 5 other really simple things that can cause no spark on the OP's tractor. Not sure suggesting that "chances are the coil is bad" was a good guess based on the info given. May have a bad connection, burnt up points, point wire grounded out..... or a number of other things that would basically cost nothing to fix. Yes, I agree, the coil could be bad, but I don't think we should jump right to a $30 part that may or may not be bad just because you recently had one fail.

I've got lots of motors with yellow coils on them that still fire.....
