Need belt size help for 38 inch Mower on 1320
I am working on a 1320 for a friend. His 38 inch mower blade brake was worn out and the PTO drive belt was missing. This is the later brake which is discontinued but I got lucky and found one. I checked the belt chart on this site and vendor data and all I found for this application was a 1/2X60.5 belt. I installed one and it looks like the pulleys were made for a 5/8 inch belt. The brake pad does not go down into the pulley far enough to drag on the back of the belt. It stops at the outer edges of the pulley. The 1/2 inch belt immediately flipped over and the blades are engaged regardless of the position of the handle. Hs anyone else encountered this?
