We're on a normal "city lot" of about a 1/4 acre total. So I guess we mow about 6000 sq. ft. with a 100 & either a 38" or 42" deck. Takes me usually 75 minutes to string trim, push mow around the obstacles (house, shed, garden, 1 tree & electrical boxes) and ride the tractor around to finish.

I can save about 15 - 20 minutes by not using the tractor.

But... I use the tractor for mowing, snow removal, landscaping, moving my sled/atv in & out of its storage spot behind the house, haul tools & material in the yard trailer & garden work.

Most importantly, I keep the tractor because I grew up on a 100 (which my parents still have & use) and I can give rides to my boys (4 yrs & 18 mths) around the yard and neighborhood. That alone is enough to justify its use, IMHO.
