As I read this post I have several thoughts.
I do agree today's youth is lazy. I don't blame them I blame the people who raised them.
The old saying that there is no such thing as a stupid question is still true. Some of the posters on this thread assume that everyone that ask a simple question is lazy. I totally disagree. I own a small mom and pop hardware store, we service everybody from professional contractors to new first time home owners. What keeps us in business in the world of home depot and Lowes is customer service. We answer questions!!! Everyone is treated equal from the simplest to the most difficult question. We do not act so bold as to assume we know what people know or should know we just answer the question and help everyone equally.
It is very ignorant to bad mouth and put down what someone does as a project. If they posted it they must be proud of it. Who the hell are we to judge. Maybe they do not have years of experience or thousands of dollars in the best tools but to them it is the best they could do with what they have available. I also show cars, and on the local circuit there is a fellow about my age. He definitely has some for lack of a better way to put it learning issues. He is a great guy but his car has some spray paint and less than professionally done things on it but, he is as proud of that car as the guy with the full frame off 6 figure restoration. And he is a great guy and fun to hang with.
There is what seems like an attempt by some on the forum to make an ass out of others as if they got points for calling someone out on their post. It is amazing how much some people think they know about other people and their situations. I have had my motivations for giving my son a car, driving habits and experiences with my cubs all called into question. Understand I am not talking about disagreements. I do not mind a good discussion for or against a position. I'm talking about making assumptions you know why people do what they do and belittling them for what they have done. To me this is very simple. If you want to answer and help someone do so, if in your all knowing wisdom you deem a question stupid or beneath you use your god given ability and do not hit reply. I'm sure someone else will be glad to help.
