You might be able to swap oil pans and use the complete Jake engine, the K series blocks have alot of interchangable parts, even internal parts can often be swapped. You do have to watch for differances in the output shafts, the pto end is part of the crank and maybe machined differantly, the output on the flywheel end(if there is one) is bolted on, some with two bolts and some with four bolts.

Broken conn rods are often caused by a failure with the lower bearing so theres often crankshaft damage aswell, but you can swap in a used crank/rod combo if you have an identical match in good condition, Ive done it several times.
