Just researched your 128 a little. Your tractor fits in with what we know of as Series 6. That group of Cadets consist of Model 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, and 169. This series was in production from Sep 71 - Oct 1974. You can add a creeper dive which gives you three more speed options all slower than 1st gear. This can create another problem. With the creeper engaged you are not supposed to change gears. Adding a creeper isn't just a bolt and play you also have to install a shorter driveshaft. This means transferring the clutch assembly to the new drive shaft. It is possible to bolt the creeper on without splitting the tractor but it is much easier with the rear detached.
