Reminds me of when I owned the quarry. A couple guys come in with a clapped out F-150 with a flat bed and 4' tall side boards. They want some crushed stone so the loader operator puts on as much as he thinks is reasonable, truck is sagging. They want more and we wouldn't load any more but told them they could shovel more on if they wanted to. About 45 mins later they come driving out to the scale, they have 4-1/2 tons on this poor Ford. Down the road they go. They made it about 1/2 mile to the first stop sign and the truck broke in half. Cops show up and ask them how much they had on the truck, driver says only 1/2 ton. This is the best part. The drivers kids says "No Daddy, the man at the scale said you have 4-1/2 tons". They ended up with 2 tow bills, they had to go and get another truck and shovel the stone off the road.
