First, I would not recommend that you pressure wash your engine because of all of the seals, since forced water will work its way beyond the seals and into your engine. Second, I do not personally use oven cleaner, but Super Kleen (the purple stuff at Wal-Mart). Others will use Simple Green or some other degreaser that does a comparable job. Whatever you choose, for your own protection and safety, wear goggles, gloves and protective covers for your skin. Any degreaser will also remove the oils from your skin, which of course is quite dangerous....not to mention if you wear contacts or get some in your eye, even a mist of it, can be dangerous.

After you spray on the degreaser and give it a moment to penetrate, you can rinse it off with a spray bottle or a simple garden hose. Repeat application as you need to.
