So I got on my mower last night and it wouldn't start. And I mean wouldn't even click/turnover/nothing when I turned the key. I could hear one faint click front the engine area when I turned the key from off, to the first position, but when I turned the key to start it, it wouldn't do anything. I have a brand new battery in the mower (less than a month old) and my maintainer that I use says the battery is fine. I even tried to jump it to make sure it wasn't just a bad battery. Same result. I tried hitting on the stater to see if it was stuck or something, but no luck. So does it sound like a starter issue to you all? Looks like starter is around $60, so not a ton of money at least. But wanted someone else to say it sounds like a starter issue.
I know last summer, when my battery was getting weak I would have to jump it and even on the jump it would not turn over on every twist of the key. Kind of hit or miss on if it would turn over. When it did, it was fine and would normally fire right up.
