It's been awhile since I have posted any progress, but I have been busy. As I said before things were pretty rusty:
Treated the rust:
Now it's primered:
Actually, everything is now primered, this was the last piece today:
The motor is all back together:
I actually have figured out how I am going to get the underside painted as well:
Now my dilemma, I have read numerous thread about what paint to use and I am torn between the Valspar Federal Yellow and International White or the IH/Case Iron Guard. I am looking at the Iron Guard over the Cub only because I hear it is cheaper than Cub and my Cub dealer is also a Case/IH dealer. I know he has the Cub paint, I assume he has the Iron Guard also.
The Cub will be a worker and is definitely not a show piece. I have put in a lot of effort to get rid of the rust, and it will sit inside most of the time and I only use it to plow snow.
If I go with the Iron Guard, does anybody have recommendations on what hardener and reducer to use and the ratios? The Valspar has it's own and the mix on it. I do plan on building me a paint booth and spraying it.
Thanks
