Thats an MTD 990/960 front grill and hood from around 1975-1980, Ive never seen a walkbehind version but the garden tractor is one of the toughest machines there was and its still a very sought after machine. They weight almost 1000 lbs without attachments. The 990 was hydrostatic with 15" rear wheels, the 960 had a 4 speed Peerless 2315 transaxle with 12" rear wheels, both models have a 16hp Briggs and Stratton. They were sold under several differant brand names so theres a few differant variations in the grill. I happen to have a 1975 Columbia version of the 960 but it needs some engine work now. Before I killed the motor tho that was by far the toughest GT Ive ever used, I pulled a 5 spade/shovel cultivator with it, 10' plow thru virgin sod... used a 54" snowplough to bulldoze and old pump house. Im not sure my Loboy could do as well as that MTD.
