Zip performance has been back for a while. The best muscle cars in the sixties and seventies were at best 13 and 14 sec cars the fastest being the shelby cobra running around 12.5 sec in the quarter. I had stock fox body mustangs in the eighties running 13.6 stock. The power of today's cars is unbelievable. My 2016 mustang with just adding a Supercharger is at 727hp with a very mild tune. For around $1000 I could change the pulley and tune and easily add another 100+ horsepower. The new coyote motor is good stock to about 800hp at the wheels. I would also have to upgrade the half shafts. I don't think the stock shafts would take to many launches. Dodge addressed on thing no one else has. A lot of the new cars would run much faster times if traction was taken into consideration. The demon comes with an adjustable suspension as well as drag radials. That is one big reason why the hellcat does not perform as well as a lot of cars with less hp. I have not seen a stock cat run under high 11's. My 99 roush with less power than my 16 is set up for the track and runs deep into the 10's. The demon is definitely a bad ass. The fastest I ever went was 9.2 sec in a dragster at a racing school at Atco raceway. You need to see how many people it takes to get a 6'3" 350 lbs man in and out of a dragster.
