To each his own, but I was in your train of thoughts Dodge Trucker until my ole 92 chevy laid down on me. Went truck looking and found a good deal on a 04 GMC 2500. Still wasn't sure about a 4 door but after I drove it awhile and seen what advantages it has over a 2 door, I was hooked. Only problem I have now, is the wife want drive her car now, she always takes my truck.
