I'd like to share something.
The last 4-5 years my 86 yr old friend and neighbor parades 1952 jeep in the local town memorial day parade.
It is the same type he drove in Korea during the war.
I helped him with the mechanical restoration, and his son did the body work.
He always asks me to come along, just in case he would have a mechanical problem.
Now I was not in the service, and don't pretend to be, but he and his platoon buddy ride in the front seat with their jackets/hats on.
When I sit in the back of that jeep and see people stand and applaud for their service makes me tear up every time.
In my day, my friends that were lucky enough to come home from 'Nam,
were cussed and spit upon and called baby murders.
They came home a changed person and most not for the better.
I'm Glad we have changed our attitude for those who served, past and present.
As you read this in English, thank both a teacher and those who served and fought to make it possible.---
